R. B. C. 2009 Christmas Concert
Watch it Now! |

COME LET US ADORE HIM!
This
is the theme under which the Redemption
Baptist Church Choir invites you to come
celebrate with it, once again this year,
the birth of the Redeemer in a mini
concert it will present Sunday December
the 20th in the morning worship
service.
The
mini concert will open with a composition
by John W. Peterson based on the words of
Isaiah 40: 3-5: “Prepare ye the way of the
Lord.” The choir will then continue with
“Il Est Né le Divin Enfant,” a French
Christmas Carol featuring shepherds
playing oboes and bagpipes and singing
merrily the coming of the One whom, “we've
been promised by the prophets
for
more than four thousand years.”
That
stirring tune will be followed by “Mary
Had a Baby!”, a delightful Negro Spiritual
that contrasts the humble state of the
King at his birth ("born in a manger")
with the majesty hidden behind this humble
appearance (He is called “King Jesus,”
“Mighty Counselor,” “King Emmanuel,”
“Mighty God,” “Everlasting Father,” etc.).
Then will resound the familiar chorus sung
long ago by the angels, following their
announcement to the shepherds that the
Savior was born: “Gloria in Excelcis Deo!”
With
the performance of « Nowèl Ayisyen » by
Emile Desamours, a Haitian composer who
has achieved world-wide fame, a Haitian
touch will be added to the mini concert
before it end with “Come, Let Us Adore
Him, Jesus Christ Our Lord And King!” a
superb medley composed by Jay Rouse and
arranged by Camp Kirkland.
